Chapter 24

Lizzie propped herself up on her elbow and gazed down at the sleeping man beside her. Had it only been two weeks since that first night? The night he'd said he loved her? It seemed like it had been a lifetime. It seemed to Liz as if this was how things had always been, should always be.

She loved everything about him, everything, from his soft shiny dark hair to the tips of his fingers that made magic come from the strings of his guitar every night. She smiled as a wicked thought of other kind of magic his hands and fingers wrought crossed her mind. She sighed and laid her head on his chest hearing his heart beating steadily against her ear. She felt his arms instinctively tighten around her pressing her against the full length of him and even in his sleep she felt his cock jump at the touch of their bodies. She relaxed and closed her eyes letting her thoughts wander.

They had been as discreet as possible. As far as she knew no one noticed anything too different about the way her and Richie carried on. They didn't hug and cuddle constantly or act all mushy in public. They would have if they could she knew that but neither of them was sure how people would react. After all, most people considered Richie like another brother to her, a much older one at that. Liz knew David would not be pleased and she didn't even want to think of what her parents might think.

She was surprised David didn't suspect anything. While Lizzie had been known to spend alot of time with Richie in the past, it was not often she spent every night in his room, and for the past two weeks, that had been where she was. Her excuse was, since Bethy was spending so much time with Jon, she didn't want to be all alone and bored. So Liz spent all her time at Richie's side.

Sometimes she watched Jon and Beth with envy. She wished it were so easy for her. She wished she could just be free to love her man openly. He was a good man. She knew she'd chosen well in that department. Everyone loved him so it was no surprise that she would. But would they still love him once they knew?

She sighed and felt herself drifting off, her last thoughts were of how in the world to break the truth of their relationship to her family. She knew she had to do so soon cause neither her or Rich could stand much more secrecy.

Richie was lounging in his chair and listening as Jon spoke to them all about the show tonight. They didn't really need to go over this every night but Jon just liked to make sure things were understood beforehand, He believed in better safe than sorry, and felt every show should be played like it was your last. The kids paid good money for a show and Jon felt the band should deliver. So a few hours before showtime, the band met as a whole and discussed any changes in the set or anything special that needed done. Usually it wasn't anything, just an excuse to sit there and pal around a bit.

Once Richie realized this time was no different than the rest he let his attention wander. As usual it wandered to her, Lizzie. She was sitting across the room with Beth. Both girls had their heads bent over something and they were giggling. He figured Beth was telling Liz some "secret" about her and Jon and it made him smile. Jon and Beth were the newest "buzz" and gauging Tico's sudden crankiness, Beth's choice in boyfriends wasn't exactly pleasing him. Richie knew it had nothing to do with Jon personally it had more to do with coming to terms with the fact that his little cousin was now a woman.

He wished that were all it was for him and Liz but he knew better. In her families eyes she was just a girl. Hell, in societies eyes she was still just a girl. But to him she was a woman. His woman. Of all the girls and women he'd been with, dated, lusted for, never had he felt so close, so secure so content as he did with his little darlin Liz. Of everyone close to him, never before had he met someone he could tell his deepest secrets to but Lizzie, she knew them all, his wants, his dreams, even his insecurities. She knew what scared him, what made him happy beyond all belief, and she had shared the same with him about her. It amazed him how much they thought alike. She wanted out of life the same thing he did, love, happiness, family and security.

He sighed as he watched her, all in good time man, all in good time. He had made up his mind. She would be his, in every way possible. Forever, he didn't care how long he had to wait. He would marry that girl someday... with or without her families approval....
