Chapter 33
After the altercation cleared up, and everyone took off to take care of last minute things before the show, Jon and Beth both still stunned at the news, sat in silence for a bit just mulling it over.
Jon was the first to find his voice " Well I sure didn't expect that. Wow! " He sighed and shook his head in disbelief.
Beth agreed saying "I know... I thought maybe she would say she .... hell I don't know now "
Jon looked thoughtful not sure how to word what he wanted to say he took a deep breath and jumped right in "I was thinking Beth...... maybe we should hold off telling anyone just yet... you know... about the baby.. cause... right now... I'm not sure how it would go over considering what tweedle dee and tweedledum just pulled... " Jon said biting his lip
Beth hugged him a bit" Yea I think you're right......I was thinking that too just .. didn't want to upset you. "
Jon looked at her "You're ok with waiting then?"
She smiled "Yea besides we got plenty of time yet" she rubbed her flat stomach gently."Surely it wont take a whole 7 months for this to blow over right?"
Jon paused "well....." He chuckled "Son of a bitch I hope not... I don't know how many more fights I can break up.. Dave's a bit of a firecracker.... and that was sober!"
Beth chuckled a bit “ I have seen him angry but damn I thought he was going to blow a gasket. If he didn't already. “
She paused for a moment “ You think Tic meant what he said? “
Jon thought about it “ Hey I do “
Jon went into deep silent thought with Beth snuggled at his side. Just a nice comfortable silence as he contemplated the plans he had been arranging. He thought maybe he should just go ahead and bring it up to Beth right then.With all that had just transpired he was beginning to think that another secret wedding just wouldn't go over really well, and he didn't want anymore drama if he could help it. Instead of cancelling it, he would just invite everyone.... that is... if only she would say yes......
“Bethy , ummm can we talk “ he asked a bit hesitantly
Beth looked at him strangely she thought they were talking, but shrugged
“Sure Jon”
Jon took a deep breath and said “ Well , you know I was.. um “
Beth watched his face and his eyes darting back and forth. It was beginning to make her nervous
Is he having second thoughts about everything?
Jon read her mind when he noticed her look of confusion and worry and hastened to reassure her “ No baby nothing like that look....I was gonna…. Well…. Ummmm right before you had to go back to school, I kinda started making plans to....... take you away from all of this and surprise you with … this “ he reached in his pocket for the ring box
Whatever she had thought he was up to, a ring and proposal was surely not it! Especially after what had just happened
“Oh God Jon!!!! “ She exclaimed tears of happiness and disbelief welling up
“Will you …. Marry me Bethy.....please? I was gonna wait because I didn't think you would say yes........thinking it was because of the baby... but I swear I been thinkin' about this even before we found out and...... I love you baby so much I want you in my life forever... just say yes...." He looked at her with a smile that reached deep into his brilliant blue eyes and waited with baited breath for her answer.
Beth wrapped her arms around him tears streaming down her face
“Of course I will”
“Really !!! Oh baby you have made me the happiest man twice these last few days “ He reached up and wiped her tears away and sweetly took her face in his hands and kissed her.
Taking her hand and placing the sparkling diamond on her finger. Bringing her hand up to his mouth he kissed it.
“Now there was more to this surprise , I wanted to have the wedding just you and I on the beach , but I don’t think that is such a wise idea . I still want the wedding there and for the week I planned but I think we should invite everyone , after I hope things chill out a bit. “
Beth again shocked he had this all planned without her knowing
“You planned the wedding to? “
He smiled “Yes baby all for you . Its all taken care of all we have to do is show up “
Bethy sniffled a bit and chuckled "Well well well.. pretty damn sure I was gonna say yes huh ya cocky son of a bitch" she teased
Jon cracked a big smile " well... I .. was taking into the account how utterly irresistible you find my smile... and... if that didn't work.. I was not above shaking my ass in your face to get you to say yes......"
“Well if you still wanna shake it for me , I won’t argue “ Beth licked her lips in anticipation
Jon laughed “ Just for you baby “ he turned down around and did his little wiggle that set many women’s hearts a fluttering.
“I’m the only one to touch too “ She grinned reaching up and grabbing just a bit .
“Baby don’t start that now or I won’t make it to the show . But later you can grab anything you want “ He cheekily grinned.
“I’m gonna hold you to that one Mister “ She stood up and kissed him nice and long wrapping her arms around his neck his hands sliding down to her ass .
They were deeply into the moment when Alec yet again disturbed the newly engaged lovers.
“ Jo……….n oh ummmmm sorry but you need to change for the show . 30 minutes til . “
Jon groaned “ Alec you have such impeccable timing don’t you … a’right comin”
“Baby be back in a bit . Then later we can…” He wiggled his eyebrows
“Can what ? fuck like rabbits “ she teased
“tsk tsk such a dirty mouth you have “
“You know you love it. “ she grinned
“You know it “ He kissed her one last time before bolting out the door.
