Chapter 36
As the sun peaked through the curtains of her hotel room , Beth reached over to the empty spot normally where Jon laid , but not today . Today she was alone. She opened her eyes remembering why he wasn't there with a smile. It was her wedding day.
Looking over at the clock , she had a bit of time before Lizzie would arrive to start getting ready. She laid back to relish in this alone time, her nerves were kicking in a bit and she was sure the closer to the time she would be a nervous wreck.
Lost in her thoughts , almost not hearing the phone ring. She snapped out of it to answer.
"Hello "
"Hey baby "
"Hey yourself . I didn't expect to hear your voice til later " She replied with a smile
" Well they never said we couldn't talk , just that we don't see each other "
"How ya doing?" Beth asked
"Well tried as hell. I couldn't sleep without you baby " Jon sweetly replied
"I couldn't either "
"Few more hours , sweetheart then you are forever mine "
"um ... I don't know about that ... not sure if .... " She teased him
"Hey ... you not backing out on me are ya " Jon feigned hurt
"No baby .. Just teasing. I love you so much it hurts "
"Aww baby I love you too. How ya feeling? "
"Except a bit nervous I am good . The baby is cooperating today I think " She joked
Jon laughed " That's good to hear . Don't need my baby all sick today or tonight either " He added devilishly.
"Don't worry about me . You should worry about you " She teased
"Oh yea. Think so eh?" Jon quipped
"Yup " Beth laughed
"Guess we shall see then? "
"Guess so "
Beth and Jon talked for awhile on the phone when there was knock on the door.
"Oh hang on baby . Someone is at the door, it might be Lizzie . "
"Ok honey " Jon smiled to himself he knew who was at the door.
Beth went to the door and opened it Instead of seeing Lizzie she was surprised to find delivery man standing in front of her holding the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers, a mixture of white roses and purple carnations with a touch of baby's breath, she had ever seen.
"Miss Valdez " He asked
"Yes "
"Here you go these are for you . Congratulations Ma'am " He smiled handing her the flowers.
Beth smiled " Thank you . Hold on let me get you something for your trouble"
"No Ma'am . " He waved off a tip
"Are... you sure? Ok, then thank you so much "
"Enjoy your day ma'am" He turned and left
Beth took the flowers in the room setting them down picking up the phone .
"Did you do this ? Baby they are so beautiful "
Jon grinned " Not as beautiful as you baby . Nothing compares to you . But did you really look at them ?"
"What do you mean ? " She leaned over to look more closely and found a box sitting down in the middle of the flowers
"What is this ?" She opened it to find a diamond choker with a locket dangling from it. she opened it up to find herself and Jon on one side and the other side a note saying baby bongiovi . Tears welled up in her eyes as she closed it to find the engraving that she would soon see that was on their rings as well . "Two hearts One soul"
"Oh God its.... beautiful " She said tears streaming down her face
" I take it you love it then" Jon quipped
"I love it and will cherish it forever "
"Good . I thought since you had to go back to school and I couldn't be there. All you have to do is look at this and I am always there."
"You are so good to me . I love you "
" I love you too bab.... y, oh shit the door . Its Richie .. I guess its that time . See you in a few hours baby .. "
" I can't wait to see you " Beth sniffed
"Me neither , now dry those happy tears . See ya soon" Jon blew her a kiss through the phone .
Beth hung up , drying her eyes .. it was time to get moving. She laid her necklace on the dresser grabbing her robe and headed for the bathroom for a shower.
